Milestones in Our Journey
A historical timeline reflecting the dedication of traditional rulers, community leaders, Members of Parliament, and educational pioneers.
Established by Abeadze State Chiefs & Elders
Abeadze State College was founded in Abeadze Dominase, approximately 20 kilometers from Mankessim along the Dominase-Kyeakor road in the Mfantseman Municipality. It was established as a co-educational Community Senior High School under the visionary leadership of the chiefs and elders led by Daseebre Kwebu Ewusi VII.
Absorption into Public Education System
Following a brief closure in 2017, the school was absorbed by the Government of Ghana in 2018 under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and GES. 209 students were placed through the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), with 107 registered in the first semester. During early stages, male boarders were housed at the residence of Daseebre Kwebu Ewusi VII and female boarders accommodated by Miss Margaret Forson.
Boarding Facility Commissioning & Substantive Leadership
Through the tireless advocacy of the late Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Hon. Ekow Kwansah Hayford, the on-campus boarding facilities were refurbished. On 30th March 2019, students officially relocated to the school boarding house, and dining hall feeding commenced on 1st April 2019. On 29th May 2019, formal government absorption was finalized with Mrs. Gifty Andoh as substantive Headmistress with 25 teaching staff.
Continuous Administrative Leadership & Facility Upgrades
The college was stewarded by distinguished educational leaders: Mr. Noah Nikolai Essuman, Ms. Hagar Blay (Feb 2020 β Oct 2022), Acting Headmistress Ms. Betty Kurentsiwa Smith (Mfantseman Municipal Director of Education), and Ms. Gifty Kimful-Mills (Feb 2023 β Jan 2025), expanding laboratories, digital tablet learning, and WASSCE performance.
Present Leadership Under Madam Helena Sarpong Asamoah
On 15th January 2025, Mrs. Helena Sarpong Asamoah assumed substantive leadership as Headmistress. Today, ASCO integrates advanced digital learning platforms (SOLS, WAEC TRS, Katon360, PlayLab AI) alongside its 6 comprehensive academic tracks.
